Goalkeeping Director, Dominik Jakubek
Dominik Jakubek was born in Santa Clara, Calif. on Sept. 2, 1979. After spending his adolescents living in Poland, Dominik moved back to the United States to play soccer and attend college. He played for San Joaquin Delta College and Sonoma State University before settling down in Chico, Calif.
As a senior for the 2003 Chico State soccer team, Dominik (or Dom, as many in Chico affectionately call him) started every game at goalkeeper and helped lead the team to the NCAA Division II National Championship game. Dom also won an amateur national championship in 2004 for the Chico Rooks, a pro development team in Chico at the time.
He was drafted as the third overall pick of the Milwaukee Wave in the 2004 Major Indoor Soccer League Draft. He was then traded to the California Cougars where he would spend the next season and a half. After his time with the cougars, Dom signed with the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer.
We are excited to have such an experienced goalkeeper training our keepers. With his expertise and dedication to perfecting the art of goalkeeping, we are confident Dom will take our keepers to the next level both mentally and physically.
