"Competitive soccer is about competition, not winning. Competition requires a challenge; the challenge of a coach is to teach his team proper technique and tactics leading to good skill development and proper decision-making. Players need to be taught to strive for a win and accept a loss with a proper attitude. Attitude, in my opinion, is extremely important. Improper attitude from players or parents can lead to stagnation of individual and team learning. A proper attitude must be developed and demanded consistently of all participants. As a coach, I am a strong believer of positive reinforcement and teach by example. During the past year, I have tried to improve my knowledge and understanding of the game of soccer and the art of coaching. I am a serious student of soccer and enjoy transmitting soccer knowledge."
